Dietmar Wicht Dietmar Wicht was born in Germany 1946 and got to know about Karl May at the age
of 12. Since that time, these books have been a part of his life. Over the years he read
all of them many times. Dietmar is a computer professional. He began work for an American
company in 1982 and relocated in to Long Island, USA in 1983. For the next few years he
experienced the American way of life and then returned to Germany. Since 1987 he worked as
an independent consultant for mostly large, international companies. In 1994 he discovered
his own spiritual truth thus appreciated Karl May's deeper message better. In 2004 he
relocated to Bathgate near Edinburgh in Scotland. Whilst trying to share the epiphany of
Karl May's work with his wife, who could not read German, he searched for English
translations. During this he discovered the Nemsi-Books website and was touched by the
description of the project, mainly by the page "About the Translator". Since his
wife could also be his editor, he felt equipped to start the epic and rewarding work of
translating Karl May’s words into the English language.
