Frauke Schroeder I was born in 1980 in Grevesmuehlen, a small town off the Baltic
coast of Eastern Germany. From an early age on, I had a keen interest for books and a
fascination for adventure as well as fantasy stories. At the age of nine, I discovered
Winnetou III in my fathers library. My journey into Karl Mays stories began
from that point on and has carried me far beyond since then. In 1999, I moved to York,
England where I worked as an Archaeologist and a Viking interactive within two museums. In
2000, my passion for history and the political science took me further north to Northern
Ireland, where I obtained my BA in European History, Politics and Literature. I am
currently studying for an MA in Applied Linguistics and Education, am teaching English as
a Second Language online and am living in a small, coastal town in Northern Ireland with
my spouse and child.
