Herbert Windolf

Herbert Windolf was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, in 1936. In 1964 he emigrated to Canada with his family to provide his German employer with technical services for North America. In 1970 he was transferred to the United States and eventually became Managing Director of the US affiliate. Kind of retired, he resides these days in Prescott, Arizona, where he, among other things, teaches courses on scientific subjects at an adult education center. He has translated several literary works from German into English, among which is Karl May’s, "The Oil Prince", published by Washington State University Press. His subsequent endeavor has been this translation of one of May’s most popular novels, "Der Schatz im Silbersee".
